Nayanthara is a south Indian actress with multifaceted acting talent and breathtaking appearance who has survived industry for more than a decade now and emerged as a star.
She made her acting debut in 2003 with a Malayalam film ‘Manassinakkare’ with Jayaram. She made her debut in Tamil with ‘Ayya’ in 2005 and Telugu with ‘Lakshmi’ in 2006. Both were successful. She had numerous successful Tamil and Telugu films like ‘Chandramukhi’, ‘Dubai Seenu’, ‘Tulasi’, ‘Billa’, ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’, ‘Aadhvan’, ‘Aramm’ and many more. In 2010, she also made her Kannada film debut through the Kannada-Telugu bilingual film ‘Super’, her only appearance in a Kannada film to date. Her portrayal of Sita in ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ earned her the Filmfare award for Best Telugu Actress and the Nandi Award for Best Actress.
Nayanthara was born in Bengaluru, Karnataka to Malayali Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Christian parents who hail from Kerala. As her father was an Indian Air Force officer, Nayanthara studied in various parts of India, mainly in North India.
